We are excited to share that we have been awarded the NEOTEC grant from the Spanish government!
This grant is given out by the Ministry of Science and Innovation through the Centre of Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI). The fund of €40 million supports small, innovative companies that focus on technology, with the aim of accelerating the transfer of knowledge and contributing to entrepreneurship.
We are very thankful to NEOTEC for granting us approximately €325,000 of funding which will include financing a new doctor to join the team. It is also a proud moment for us, knowing we have the support of the Spanish government in the development of our animal-free dairy.

Título: OPTIMIZACIÓN DE LA FUNCIONALIDAD DE LAS CASEÍNAS PRODUCIDAS POR FERMENTACIÓN DE PRECISIÓN

Objectives:
OBJECTIVE 1: Strain Engineering: We will generate different strains of Pichia pastoris to efficiently express the various caseins using molecular biology techniques.
OBJECTIVE 2: Optimize yeast culture conditions. The growth and production of our strains depend on the culture medium, pH, temperatures, and culture volume. Experiments will be conducted to test the ideal conditions for each strain of Pichia pastoris.
OBJECTIVE 3: Optimize the purification of caseins: for this objective, new casein purification methods will be developed, based on the isoelectric point and pH of the caseins, which are compatible with the manufacturing of dairy products and human consumption.

Objectivos:
OBJETIVO 1: Ingeniería de cepas: vamos a generar distintas cepas de Pichia pastoris para expresar eficientemente las diferentes caseínas mediante técnicas de biología molecular.
OBJETIVO 2: Optimizar las condiciones de cultivo de las levaduras. El crecimiento y producción de nuestras cepas depende del medio de cultivo, pH, temperaturas y volumen de cultivo. Se van a realizar experimentos para testar las condiciones idóneas para cada cepa de Pichia pastoris.
OBJETIVO 3: Optimizar la purificación de las caseínas: para este objetivo se van a desarrollar nuevos métodos de purificación de las caseínas, basados en el punto isoeléctrico y el pH, de las caseínas, que sean compatibles con la fabricación de los productos lácteos y el consumo humano.
